Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue and Peppermint Pig Thrift and Gift is a 100% volunteer operated organization. We are often asked by members of our community to provide assistance to animals in need. The circumstances under which the animals come to us are not as important as knowing as much as we can about the animal so we can assess the necessary medical needs and evaluate the best foster/forever home for that animal.

Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue (PPAR) does not have a physical shelter, so all of our animals reside in foster homes. If we do not have enough fosters, then boarding expenses must be incurred. Peppermint Pig Thrift and Gift store serves as our primary financial support and as our adoption venue. All of the animals adopted through Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue must be current on vaccines, tested heartworm negative, dewormed, treated with heartworm/flea preventative and spayed/neutered. Medical conditions present upon intake are treated by a veterinarian or specialist, as needed. Additionally, PPAR animals are microchipped and come with our lifetime commitment to our animals. If for any reason an adopter is unable to properly care for one of our adopted animals, then our contract stipulates that the animal must be returned to us to find a more suitable home. Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue provides all of this for an adoption fee that starts at just $165.00. We do our best to help as many animals as our foster homes, volunteers and finances can support. However, just like any other rescue group, our resources are limited.

We are currently unable to assist with rehoming cats (unless the cat was originally adopted from Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue).
