Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue, Saving Lives Since 2006

Our loyal supporters make it possible to provide the best care possible for our rescues. Your donation of household items as well as cash are critical in our mission.

Our 501(c)(3) status makes your donations tax deductible and we need your support! The average cost to ensure our rescues are up to date on medical care is $300 per animal. At Peppermint Pig, we average $4,000 a month in vet bills, with some months reaching $10,000+ to ensure their care. We couldn’t do it without the incredible support of our community!

All donations go directly to the rescue, rehabilitation and care of needy animals in our local community. We rescue the majority of our adoptable pets from open intake shelters, high kill shelters, and by working closely with other rescues and shelters to rescue and transport from rural areas with high euthanasia rates. Some of our rescues are owner surrenders/surrendered to a vet for medical/financial reasons or found as strays and not claimed. We are primarily a dog & cat rescue, although we do try to help other companion animals (such as birds, reptiles, guinea pigs & other small animals), when we can.

Peppermint Pig FAQ

Peppermint Pig Thrift & Gift operates solely to support Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue.

We are a 100% non-profit 501(c)(3)

100% of the proceeds from our volunteer-operated thrift store go directly to the rescue and care of animals in need in our communities. Our Thrift store operates to bridge the gap between our low adoption fees and the cost of vetting and care we provide the animals we rescue. We also receive monetary donations through private and corporate fundraising, corporate employee matching programs, direct donations, memorial donations and through supporters that have kindly placed our non-profit in their wills.

No. We are a completely 100% volunteer-based organization. From thrift store item intake to administering much needed animal vaccinations, every single bit of our work is done by dedicated and passionate volunteers.

Anything that is needed for our rescues. This means food, medicine, vaccinations, treats and toys, grooming, boarding fees, piddle pads and puppy and kitten rearing pens, and specialized diet food. One of our largest expenses is our monthly vet bills for much-needed spay and neuter surgeries.
