SUCCESS STORY: BONNIE BLUE! (fka Rozz)

THANK YOU PEPPERMINT PIG ANIMAL RESCUE!

My name is Bonnie Blue (formerly Rozz). This is how A PIG, the Peppermint Pig, saved my life.

The volunteers at Peppermint Pig were rescuing other animals when they heard about me. I was surrendered by my owners after being hit by a car. Despite my right leg being swollen 4x its normal size, I tried to walk over to greet the volunteers and give them kisses. The volunteers met me, scooped me up, and I was immediately taken for medical evaluation. My car accident resulted in a broken femur and I received surgery the very next day.

A steel plate and 33 staples later, I met my foster family for the first time when they picked me up from the vet hospital following my surgery. The vet ordered 8 weeks of crate rest and 2x weekly water treadmill therapy sessions along with laser treatments for tissue repair and wound healing.

The rescue, the surgery, and the recovery were all covered by Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue. I was sitting in a shelter with an injury that surely would have resulted in being euthanized and now, because of the wonderful people at Peppermint Pig, I have a great life, 2 four-legged sisters and 1 kind of annoying four-legged big brother (but I love him).

Special thanks to volunteers Cis, Linda and Melissa from Peppermint Pig. Also, Dr. Rueger (Cherry Grove Animal Hospital), Dr. Maritato (surgeon at MedVet) and Shawn Zimmermann (my physical therapist @ MedVet).

As for my 2 legged family members, thank goodness they are a bunch of failures! Foster Failures! You see, I never left my foster home. They decided that my forever home had to be theirs. I am forever thankful for the Peppermint Pig!

A PIG REALLY DID SAVE MY LIFE!

Sloppy Kisses,

Bonnie Blue (formerly Rozz)
