Important Application and Adoption Information:
Read our Adoption Process tab on our website BEFORE submitting your application. To be considered for adoption, applicants must meet our adoption requirements and policies.
Do not submit your application until you are ready to adopt. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 1 to 4, we will not hold dogs until you are ready.
Read the dog/puppy's bio thoroughly before applying and take note of any requirements listed to adopt.
Answer all questions honestly. We will check to verify the information you provide.
Answer all questions thoroughly. Short and/or vague answers may be considered incomplete and we may move on to the next applicant.
Set aside 30 minutes to an hour to complete the application.
Make sure you are within the specified adoption radius. We do not make exceptions to our adoption radius.
Make sure you meet all basic adoption requirements listed in the pet's bio, including any fenced yard requirements listed.
Make sure you meet our vet care requirements listed in Our Adoption Process tab under "Vet Care"
Make sure the decision to adopt is well planned and well thought out. Please do not apply to adopt without first evaluating the commitment level required to adopt a dog.
Do not skip the Co-applicant section of the application, if there is another adult living in the home besides yourself, they must be listed as co-applicant.
We hold applications for 3 months. Do not submit more than one application within a 3 month timeframe unless your interest has switched from a dog over 4 months old to a puppy under 4 months old. If you are interested in another dog/puppy, please submit a contact form and let us know.
Please take note of the sections in our Adoption Process tab regarding young children, puppies and renting.
Each dog we rescue has individual needs, energy levels, personalities, etc. that we thoroughly evaluate while they are in their foster home. We select homes/adopters to best fit each individual dog's needs and we also use this information to try and ensure the dog will fit the adopter's lifestyle. We detail these needs, suggestions and requirements in their bio on our website.
*
I have read this dog's bio/details provided on your website to check for any specific suggestions and/or requirements that may be listed to adopt him/her and I understand that I may not be selected to adopt if I do not meet certain criteria.
Are ALL members of the household available to schedule a meet on Saturday during our scheduled adoptions? (Please keep in mind, if your application is approved, we will typically schedule your meet/adoption for the Saturday immediately following the day you submit your application. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF OUR VOLUNTEER TIME. DO NOT INDICATE THAT YOU ARE AVAILABLE SATURDAY IF YOU'RE NOT AVAILABLE).
*
Yes, we are available to meet/adopt this Saturday during PPAR's adoption event.
No, we are not available to meet/adopt this Saturday and I will indicate below when I am available.
Applications submitted late on Thursdays or on Fridays or Saturdays typically will not be screened until the following week. All of our rescue pets reside in foster homes until they are adopted (we do not have a physical shelter/kennel), so we schedule approved meets at our Peppermint Pig Thrift and Gift store. Due to limited store hours, fosters' and adopters’ schedules, we schedule meets on Saturdays between 1pm and 4pm. We have a very high demand from local kill shelters to rescue more dogs, so if you are not available to adopt, we cannot hold this dog for you if another approved applicant is available to adopt them. Our goal is to find the right home for each dog as soon as possible so that we can free up their foster home for another dog in need of rescue. If you are not available Saturday, please select "No" and then indicate when you are available in the space provided. Thank you.
When are you available?
*
Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue is 100% volunteer operated. Due to limited thrift store hours and fosters' and adopters’ schedules, we schedule meets on Saturdays between 1pm and 4pm. If you are unable to make arrangements to come to a meet on the Saturday following the submission of your application, we may move on to the next applicant. We are rarely, if ever, able to accomodate meets outside of our specified adoption days/times.

Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue provides our rescue puppies with their puppy series DAPP vaccinations, done at 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age. All puppies are adopted with current age appropriate vaccinations. If the puppy is not old enough to receive all of these vaccines, they will be required to return to PPAR to receive them. Are you able to bring this puppy back to receive their vaccines?
*

No
Puppy vaccines are included with the adoption. The puppies must return to PPAR to receive these, there will be no exceptions. Puppy Vaccines are scheduled on Saturdays, typically between noon and 1pm.

*
Yes
No
Puppy spay/neuters are included with the puppy adoption fee. A separate puppy contract will be signed at the time of adoption to ensure this is completed by the date they are due. Permanent guardianship of the puppy is contingent on your compliance with our contract.
Have you read Our Adoption Process information on our website?
*

We are a 100% volunteer operated rescue, and we receive an extremely high volume of communications daily through our multiple online platforms, on top of all the rescue work we are busy doing. It is your responsibility to make sure you meet the criteria and/or requirements in our Adoption Process tab before completing our Adoption Application. We ask that you take our rescue volunteers' time into consideration and read the information that we provide for you. Thank you.

Please do not apply for a dog under the impression that they will be non-shedding, or hypo or non-allergenic. We make no claims or guarantees as to the allergen or shedding potential of any of our rescue dogs. Thank you.
