Meet the A Pups - Beagadores! Available for adoption 7 Beagle/lab pups, 4 males, 3 female, 8 weeks old. Meet Abigail! Her foster reports, "Abigail is probably my favorite if I absolutely had to pick one. She loves when I hold her and rock her and talk to her. She stares at my eyes as if nothing else matters at that moment. She loves when I hold her and give her kisses and play face to face bumps with her. She is so smart and 99 times out of 100, she'll give paw and sit when told to. She is playful and happy and very good with everyone." The A Pups litter comes from a loving home whose owner unfortunately had an accidental litter with their adult dogs. Meet Aries! Aries is a neutered male Staffordshire Terrier mix. He is 3 years and 6 months old and currently weighing in around 55 pounds. Aries is a sweet boy with lots of big kisses to give! He prefers to be the only dog in the household but he’s got all the love you will ever need! He’ll try to be the boss, so consistent boundaries are key for this boy. He will play fetch but also really likes plushies. Aries knows sit, down, let’s go, table, and is perfecting the stay command. He is also currently perfecting his loose-leash heel. He is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations. COURTESY POST: PEPPERMINT PIG IS HELPING TO FIND THIS PUP A FOREVER HOME. THIS IS A DOG IN OUR COMMUNITY THAT NEEDS YOUR HELP! Aries is one of three sweet dogs that were abandoned at a local boarding facility by their owners and Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue is assisting the facility with re-homing. This boy is not currently in a Peppermint Pig Foster home, but we will be handling the screening of adoption applications and meet and greets. We want to make sure Aries finds his forever home this time. $165 rehoming donation kindly requested (made to Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue 501c3 so we can continue to help other animals in need). Meet the B Pups ~ Available for Adoption! 5 Cattle dog puppies, weighing in from 2 to 5 pounds; 3 males, 2 female, 8 weeks old. Meet Bastien! - (male) The B Pups litter came from our Kentucky rescue partners, Love of Paws. This was a large litter, but unfortunately only 5 pups survived the bitter cold living outside in rural Kentucky. Thankfully we were able to step up and fight for the remaining 5 pups. After a few weeks of warm beds, good food and snuggles, they are now ready for adoption! The B pups are very sweet, energetic and playful with a good amount of energy. Sadly they came from a home where the animals were not properly cared for, and so we do not know what breed dad was. But we feel comfortable by their markings and demeanor that they are cattle dog mixes. Meet the B Pups ~ Available for Adoption! 5 Cattle dog puppies, weighing in from 2 to 5 pounds; 3 males, 2 female, 8 weeks old. Meet Blaine! These pups are still quite young, so they are not yet housebroken or crate trained. $195 Adoption Fee All puppies are dewormed, started on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped. All puppies will be adopted with current, age appropriate vaccines, given by Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue. Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue will provide their puppy series DAPP vaccines, given at 6, 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age. Only the 16 week shots are remaining. Puppy adopters will be will be required to bring the puppy back to Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue to receive any remaining puppy vaccines after adoption. Puppy adopters will also be required to bring the puppy to our vet for their spay/neuter surgery after they receive their 16 week vaccination from us. The spay/neuter and puppy vaccines are included with the puppy adoption fee. We have a strict one hour puppy adoption radius, puppy adopters must be within one hour of Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue. Meet Bonnie! Bonnie is a 3 year old, 56 pound, spayed female Border Collie / Lab mix. Bonnie is a sweet, intelligent, timid girl that loves playing with the house cat as well as cuddling with her people. Her current owners report that she loves going to the dog park, being outdoors and is a very fast runner! One of her all time favorite things to do is get up in bed with her people and cuddle. Bonnie is a previous Peppermint Pig puppy that is having trouble adjusting to small children in the house. Because of her naturally timid personality, children in the new adoptive home must be 8+ or older as small children do tend to make her anxious. Cats in the home must be dog savvy and be used to living with dogs. Bonnie's new home should also have experience with integrating adult dogs. $165 Adoption Fee. AT PEPPERMINT PIG ANIMAL RESCUE, WE UPDATE ALL OF OUR PETS ON A REGULAR BASIS. IF YOU SEE ME HERE, I AM AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. PLEASE READ MY BIO BELOW TO LEARN MORE ABOUT ME AND HOW TO APPLY TO ADOPT 🙂 Meet Eva: 10 years old, 60 pounds, spayed female bully/pittie mix. Available for Adoption! This sweet girl was dumped off at a kill shelter by her humans when they decided to move out of state. Eva has given nothing but love and loyalty to her people her whole life, only to be discarded like she was nothing. Eva hasn't let it get her down though, to say she is the sweetest dog in the world is an understatement. This girl absolutely adores people, children (8+ please) and even gets along well with dog savvy cats. She is happy and has a joyful spirit and gentle nature and she is looking forward to sharing her love with her new family when she finds them. Eva is house broken and does well in a crate if needed, but she is content to just lounge on the couch. She prefers to be your one and only and have all your love, attention and snuggles, so she would do best if she were the only dog in the home. $165 Adoption Fee. All Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, current on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped. A Fenced Yard is preferred to adopt, but Eva will do well if all activities take place on a leash after some leash training. Please see our Fenced Yard Requirements tab on our website for more information, here: https://peppermintpiganimalrescue.org/fenced-yard-requirements/ Our adoption area, unless otherwise specified in their bio, is within a two hour radius of Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue for adult dogs, and within a one hour radius for puppies. Meet Gladys! Female spayed Poodle/Terrier mix, 2.5 -3 years old, 62 lbs. Gladys is seriously as sweet as can be! She has yet to meet a stranger. She was previously living in a high kill shelter for the past 5 months before coming to live in a foster home with us. She truly wants nothing more than to snuggle on the couch next to people! Gladys is housebroken and crate trained, but does have crate anxiety when first placed inside one. She definitely prefers to be out of the crate next to her people. Her foster reports that she is not at all destructive when left out of the crate, with access to the house. Gladys is loyal, sweet and energetic and needs training to help her learn appropriate manners with humans and other dogs. She does great with other dogs her size, but she is a little overbearing, (and unable to read other dog behavior cues), when it comes to smaller dogs. We do not adopt dogs out under the impression, expectations or claims that they are non or hypo-allergenic, and/or non or low shedding. GLADYS will require regular grooming since she does shed! This type of coat can and will cause matting and skin issues if the coat is not properly groomed and cared for. The source of pet allergies is often a protein that's in the saliva and urine of dogs and cats, and not their fur/hair. GLADYS DOES shed and is not "hypoallergenic." GLADYS needs regular brushing at home and professional grooming every 6 to 9 weeks. $165 Adoption Fee All Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, current on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped. Meet Hubba Hubba Hubbard! AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Hubbard is estimated 10 months old, 45 pounds, Neutered male German Shepherd dog. Hubbard is a big ol' baby who likes a lot of attention from his people and has a considerable amount of energy. He came to us a stray, extremely underweight and with some considerable hair loss. Huge thanks to a good samaritan who found this sweet boy running alone and hungry, picked him up and brought him to us. Now this pup is in a warm, safe foster home and receiving vet treatment. Hubbard is extremely intelligent, knows basic commands, is house broken, crate trained, and just loves to be with people. He is currently living with 5 other dogs (large and small) and assumes the submissive role to the other dominant dogs in the pack. Hubbard is looking for a loving family who has experience with large breed dogs. Children in the home must be 8+ and any cats in the home must be used to living with dogs. Meet Jelly Bean:: 7 years old, 35 pounds, 18 inches tall Spayed Female Pug mix. Available for Adoption! This squishy-faced lady is searching for her forever home! Jelly Bean absolutely loves taking walks, runs, car rides and hikes and is wonderful on a leash as long as no other dogs are anywhere in the vicinity. However, despite being such a smart girl, no one has been able to reduce her extremely high reactivity on a leash to other dogs so is best kept to exercising and playing with in a fenced yard. She is snuggly and loves her people very much. She is a very loyal girl. She loves to play with squeaky toys and tug toys and is very well potty trained, will sit, stay and lay down on command. She does great with the cats in her current home and is also good with children. Jelly Bean was adopted from us in 2020 and her family absolutely ADORES her, but little Jelly Bean had an incident where she darted outside off leash through the front door and she and a neighbor's dog got into a tiff. Her adopter was injured in the hand (by the other dog) breaking up the fight as often happens but doesn’t want to risk that happening again so her adopters are returning her to us (per our adoption contract). Her forever home needs to take steps to ensure that Jelly Bean cannot dart out the front door by using a baby gate or putting her in a different room before opening the front door. When introduced properly, Jelly Bean does okay with other dogs, but she is not interested in companionship with them, so she may do best as the only dog in the home. Jelly Bean would love to have a quiet home in a rural area where she can enjoy her life just making her humans happy! $165 Adoption Fee. Meet Jolly! Available for Adoption! Meet the J Pups! 6 Spaniel/lab pups, 5 females, 1 male, 8 weeks old. The J Pups came to us from our rescue partners, Love of Paws, in rural Kentucky. The litter of 6 came to us with their mom at 3 days old from a loving home who unfortunately had an accidental litter. The owner wanted to do the responsible thing, and find the pups homes where they will be well cared for the rest of their lives. Love of Paws knew that we would selectively choose those forever homes. The J pups are ALL extremely sweet and playful with a good amount of energy. They all have different hair lengths, some have longer fur like their momma, some have medium and some have shorter fur similar to a lab. Mom is pictured here; at 20" tall and only 20 pounds full grown. • Spayed/Neutered
  • Housebroken

  • Special Needs

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Meet Karl! 11 months old as of 1/14/23, Karl is neutered. Great Pyrenees/Boxer mix. 2 hr adoption radius. Currently weighs over 50 lbs. Great Pyrenees were bred centuries ago to work with shepherds and herding dogs in the Pyrenees Mountains of Spain. The dog’s job was to watch the flock and deter predators, whether wolves, bears, or livestock rustlers. Great Pyrenees are an immensely powerful working dog, bred for their protective natures. Their courage when defending the flock has always been legendary. Karl, as is true to his breed, is a vigilant guardian of his home and family. He would benefit from an experienced adopter, with previous large breed and/or Great Pyr experience. Karl does well with other dogs, especially puppies, and would do well with another calm centered dog in the home that can help him gain confidence in new situations. Karl is potty trained and crate trained. Given the opportunity he would love to sleep in bed with his human! He is very sweet and lovable, and completely devoted to the people he feels are his family. He does not always do well with strangers, and for this reason we are looking for a quiet home with no children and a LOW traffic level of visitors. $195 Adoption Fee All puppies are dewormed, started on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped. Karl is also neutered. All puppies will be adopted with current, age appropriate vaccines, given by Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue. Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue will provide their puppy series DAPP vaccines, given at 6, 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age. Karl has received all of his puppy series of shots. The spay/neuter and puppy vaccines are included with the puppy adoption fee. Karl is already neutered. Karl has a 2 hour adoption radius because vaccinations and neuter are complete. On application, check that you are adopting a puppy but if you live within 2 hr radius (via Google maps from your address to ours 8454 Beechmont Ave Cincinnati, Ohio 45255, then click yes that you are within the radius even though the question is asking if you are an hour away) Please see our Adoption Radius tab on our website for more info, here: https://peppermintpiganimalrescue.org/adoption-radius/ Along with other criteria evaluated in the adoption application, a Fenced Yard is required to adopt. She is affectionate, great on car rides, decent on the leash with some training, curious with the cat but doesn't harm. Marge is currently potty trained and crate trained. Meet Sweet NALA! Nala is a spayed female German Shepherd dog. She is 1 year and 7 months old and currently 65 pounds. Nala LOVES to play fetch and most toys. She is highly food motivated. She knows sit and is working on down but can be sometimes be stubborn without a reward. She enjoys learning and working. Her fosters are currently trying to teach her some leash manners. She is very vocal at all times, a shepherd through and through. Nala is a very sweet, happy girl and loves to be near everyone. She also loves to play with other dogs although she does try to heard them like a shepherd. She is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations. Nala has good crate and potty manners overall. She will need to be house trained, but likely will pick it up quickly once out of the boarding facility. She was introduced to a cat, and seemed unconcerned about the scent, but did get somewhat startled by the sight of it, and ran to humans for comfort. This indicates a good chance that with a controlled introduction, Nala would likely be able to co-exist well with cats in a home. COURTESY POST: PEPPERMINT PIG IS HELPING TO FIND THIS PUP A FOREVER HOME. THIS IS A DOG IN OUR COMMUNITY THAT NEEDS YOUR HELP! Nala is one of three sweet dogs that were abandoned at a local boarding facility by their owners and Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue is assisting them with re-homing. Nala is not currently in a Peppermint Pig Foster home, but we will be handling the screening of adoption applications and meet and greets. We want to make sure Nala finds her forever home this time. $165 rehoming donation kindly requested (made to Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue 501c3 so we can continue to help other animals in need). Adoption Radius is within 2 hours of Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue. • Prefers home without catsSpecial Needs

Meet Penny! Penny is a spayed female Shetland Sheepdog or Sheltie. She is just over 1 year old and currently 12 lbs. ~PLEASE READ about Penny's NEEDS before applying!~ Penny is a HIGH ENERGY youngster. She basically acts like a 6 month old in an adult dog body. Her adoptive family MUST be committed to giving her the training, direction and exercise she needs to be a good girl. At this point, her manners are not developed, and she will need to be house broken, leash trained, and crate trained. Her foster reports that she plays hard with young dogs but doesn't seem to show interest in older dogs. Penny will need lots of EXERCISE! She LOVES being outside and running in circles while she barks. **UPDATE: After just 1 week with a foster Penny is making strides! She is doing great at crate training, sleeping overnight from 8 pm to 6 am with no accidents! She has already learned to sit, and is quickly making progress with look, touch and down. She is also playing great with all other foster dogs in the home. She is also making some progress with potty training.** At this time we DO NOT recommend her going to a home with cats, unless they are very experienced with dogs (aka dog savvy). The current foster reports that she barks and lunges as cats. Our Peppermint Pig fosters have been working on getting her to sleep throughout the night in a crate. Penny is a young, intelligent and energetic dog. She has tons of potential to be an amazing pet, but will absolutely need owners that dedicate time to her training. We are looking for adopters with training experience and with experience dealing with high energy herding dogs. Penny will require regular grooming since she will shed, which can and will cause matting and skin issues if her coat is not properly groomed and cared for. We will update Penny’s bio more as we learn more about how she is acclimating in her current foster home. $450 Adoption Fee. All Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, current on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped. A Fenced Yard is required to adopt. AT PEPPERMINT PIG ANIMAL RESCUE, WE UPDATE ALL OF OUR PETS ON A REGULAR BASIS. IF YOU SEE ME HERE, I AM AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. PLEASE READ MY BIO BELOW TO LEARN MORE ABOUT ME AND HOW TO APPLY TO ADOPT 🙂 Meet Rowan aka Earnest:: 5 years old, 60 pounds, Neutered male Pyrenees/Shepherd/Chow type/mix. Available for Adoption! Rowan, who we are now calling Earnest, has found himself homeless after his family raised him from a puppy and he was loving and loyal to them for over 4 years before they abandoned him over their own neglect to provide proper supervision in their invisible fenced yard and had a very minor incident with someone who came into the yard unannounced. Earnest loved his family so much and he has been depressed and sad ever since they left him, with only fleeting moments of playfulness here and there. Earnest takes some significant time to warm up to his new people, but he does love to be pet and loved once he knows you're his friend.
